Q: What is included in the price?
A: The price of the cremation includes pick up of the pet in your home or veterinary clinic and certificate of cremation. Your pet's cremation is a private individual cremation which means that the ashes you receive are in fact your pet's, and are not mixed with any other pet.

Q: How much does it cost?
A:
Depends on the weight of the pet:

Pocket Pets (Farret, hamsters, birds, rabbits, etc.) $200.00

Pets up to 25 pounds(cats, toy dogs, etc.) $250.00

Pets 26-50 pounds $275.00

Pets 51-75 pounds $300.00

Pets 76-100 pounds $325.00

Pets 101-125 pounds $375.00

Pets 126-150 pounds $400.00

Over 150 pounds Call for price

Q: Does my animal leave the state of Maryland to be cremated?
A: No, your animal is cremated in Maryland.


Q: What do the ashes come in?
A: The ashes are first placed in a sealed, heavy duty plastic bag, then put into a temporary white urn.

Q: Do you have anything else to put my pet's ashes in besides the temporary white urn?
A:
Yes, we have a variety of pet urns to choose from that can be purchased from us. We have Photo Urns, Outdoor Rock Urns, Figurine Urns, K-9 Cottage Urns, Feline Figurine Urns , Keepsake Urns, Keepsake Jewelry, Keepstones, Burial Marker, and many more.

Q: If I order an Urn from Best Friend Pet Cremation, how long will it take to recieve it?
A: Best Friend Pet Cremation will hold your pets remains in our office until the urn arrives which takes about 7 days. Once the urn arrives your beloved pet is put in the urn, sealed and hand delivered back to the family.

Q: What forms of payment do you accept?
A:
We accept Money Orders, Personal Checks, (2 forms picture ID) Visa, MasterCard,  and cash.

Q:
Is there an extra charge to pick up my deceased pet after regular business hours, on weekends or holidays?
A:
Yes, there is an extra charge to pick up your pet after regular business hours, on weekends or holidays.   Call for details.


Q: Is there an extra charge to return the cremains "after-hours" to your home on weekends or holidays?
A:
No, there are no extra charges for "after-hours", home deliveries. We do not schedule deliveries on holidays or Sundays.  


Q: Once I have a prior appointment, do I need to contact you or does the veterinary clinic?
A: We prefer you contact us giving us the phone number of the veterinary clinic so that we can contact them and let them know that we will be there to pick-up your pet as quickly as possible. If that is not possible, have the clinic call us as soon as you arrive so that we can make arrangements with them for pick-up.


Q: Is payment expected at time of pick-up of my pet? What if I don't have payment at that time?
A:
We understand the heartache of losing a pet and the last thing on your mind is trying to pay right now, however 1/2 of the payment is required at the time of cremation, with the final payment due when the cremains are hand delivered back to the family.

Q: How is my pet transported from my home? 
A: Your pet is transported from your home in a human body bag, not a trash bag. We treat your pet with dignity and respect. 

Q: Can I cremate my pet's favorite blanket with them?
A:
Yes, We can cremate anything with the animal that isnt metal.

Q: Do you euthanize pets?
A:
No we do not, but we work closely with mobile vets. We can arrange and coordinate our time in accordance with your needs.

Q: What happens if I choose not to take my pets cremains?
A:
Best Friend Pet Creamation can arrange to have your pets cremains scattered for a minimal fee. We do allow up to 15 days to change your mind if you decide that you want to receive the cremains.
